The Tenant

Call it a pilgrimage

if you like.

Call it holy, only

don’t stop moving.

Keep your mind agile,

occupied with ideas like

survival.

Keep it to a phone screen

if you can.

Curate stories (sorry,

tag for gore please).

Contain sensitive

images that some might find

disturbing.

Compartmentalising

apartments

blasted open, coping

only in hope

that the key still fits

when all things are said and done,

tomorrow.

And there will be tomorrow,

and there will come a time.

Today, hold space for hell.

We pray, but do not dwell

on Palestine.
